Workshop on Curriculum Mapping for the Faculty of Technology

A Workshop on Curriculum Mapping was conducted on 01 October 2025 from 8.30 a.m. to at the Board Room of the Faculty of Technology for the academic staff of the faculty. The workshop was facilitated by Senior Prof. E.P.S. Chandana. The workshop highlighted the importance of curriculum mapping in aligning Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs), Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs), teaching strategies, and assessment methods to support continuous quality improvement and accreditation requirements. Participants were introduced to key concepts such as constructive alignment, Bloom’s taxonomy, graduate attributes, and curriculum mapping techniques. Through interactive discussions and group activities, participants explored methods for identifying gaps, overlaps, and imbalances within curricula, reviewing vertical and horizontal alignment, and ensuring balanced student workload across semesters. The workshop provided practical guidance for strengthening curriculum design and enhancing program quality. The workshop was organized by Dr. Wathsala Rajawatta, Chairperson of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Faculty of Technology, with the support of Prof. Subash Jayasinghe, Dean of the Faculty of Technology.
