First industry consultative meeting of the Dept. of Biosystems Technology was successfully conducted on 12th August 2021 on virtual platform with more than 40 Industrial Representatives.
The introductory monthly teamwork arranged by the Department of Biosystems Technology, Faculty of Technology, University of Ruhuna was successfully rounded off on 26th September 2020. This concept was put forward by the Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof. EPS Chandana with objectives of widening attentiveness on protection, enhancement, value addition and sustainable utilization of land and other resources in faculty premises.
Undergraduates from the Department of Biosystems Technology, Faculty of Technology, University of Ruhuna initiated a plastic recycling and an awareness project by joining hands with a PET bottle recycling project called "Give Back Life" sponsored by Coca-Cola Beverages, Sri Lanka and Eco Spindles (Pvt) Ltd.
The Tree Planting Campaign - 2018 has been successfully held on 5th December 2018 at Faculty of Technology, University of Ruhuna. This event was organized by the Department of Biosystems Technology of the Faculty of Technology, University of Ruhuna to commemorate the 40th anniversary of University of Ruhuna.
