Product demonstration of final year undergraduates of the Department of Engineering Technology was successfully conducted on 24th November 2023 at the faculty premises in parallel to RICIT2023 conference.
On the 08th of August 2023, the Department of Engineering Technology facilitated a group of around 35 Advanced Level (A/L) Engineering Technology students from St Anthony's College in Baddegama.
On the 20th of June 2023, the Department of Engineering Technology facilitated a group of 54 Advanced Level (A/L) Engineering Technology students from Siridhamma College in Galle.
Department of Engineering Technology, Faculty of Technology, University of Ruhuna, successfully conducted the webinar titled, "Trends in Technology Stream Education" on 13 September 2021 from 9.00 to 11.00 a.m. The resource person was, Dr. T A Piyasiri, Overall Coordinator of the Technology Stream.
The Department of Engineering Technology successfully conducted a special live webinar titled "Face Your Future with Confidence" on Aug 2, 2021, 04:00 PM onwards via zoom, with the collaboration of an industrial resource person.
A "Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Workshop" was successfully conducted on 2021.04.05 from 10.00 am onwards at the Electronics Laboratory, Department of Engineering Technology.
The Department of Engineering Technology conducted two-day workshop on A/L Technology stream practical demonstration on 24th and 25th of February 2021. For this event 40 students and 5 teachers of Richmond College, Galle were participated.
Two inventions presented by two groups of students representing the Department of Engineering Technology , Faculty of Technology , University of Ruhuna have won the silver and bronze medals under the University and Tertiary education category at "Sahasak Nimawum -2020" organized by Sri Lanka Inventors Commission.
