"සංහිඳියාව උදෙසා කලාව - සරසවි මිතුරෝ " - Youth Forum'23

"සංහිඳියාව උදෙසා කලාව - සරසවි මිතුරෝ " - Youth Forum'23 was held at Faculty of Technology on 2nd and 3rd of August 2023. Around 150 students participated at this event representing all the faculties of University of Ruhuna and Youth Council of Sri Lanka.

This was mainly sponsored by the Ministry of Justice, Sri Lanka and coordinated by the Career Guidance Unit, Faculty of Technology of University of Ruhuna, National Youth Centre Matara and the Divisional Secretary Office, Matara.

This was indeed a dynamic platform that brought together young individuals from various backgrounds and cultures to engage in discussions, share ideas, and collaborate on issues that affect the global youth community. Through this forum, young people gained valuable insights, expanded their networks, and developed the skills necessary to address the challenges of the modern world.

This was glamoured by a opening ceremony and it was graced by the Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Ruhuna, Professor, EPS Chandana, Dean of the Faculty of Technology, Prof. PKSC Jayasinghe, Director, Career Guidance Unit, Prof. Thusitha Gunawardena, Director General, Ministry of Justice, Mr. Deepthi Lamahewa, Divisional Secretary, Kamburupitiya, Mr. Kusalaka Nanayakkara and other officials from all the coordinating institutions. Closing ceremony was held at the end of the second day with the participation of Director General, National Youth Centre, Mr. Pasindu Gunarathna, Dean of the Faculty of Technology, Prof. PKSC Jayasinghe, Secretary, National Youth Centre, Mr. Tharindu Naveen and other officials from all the coordinating institutions.

Students were awarded a certificate for the successful participation. Mrs. Champika S. Jayaweera, Academic Career Advisor, Faculty of Technology, coordinated this programme from the Faculty of Technology, University of Ruhuna.
