Dr. Kaushalya Wijayasekara, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biosystems Technology, has been awarded the 2024 Investigator-Driven Research Grant by the National Research Council (NRC), marking the first such achievement for the Faculty of Technology. On April 2, 2025, a group of students from the Engineering technology and Bio System technology departments attended a training session offered by the District Agricultural Training Center- Kamburupitiya for the purposes of the projects on the mushroom production process. On February 20th, a group of level 3 students from the Department of Engineering Technology visited the “Makandura Tec Factory” to inspect the tea leaf drying process. The visit was part of the ongoing “Development of Surface Moisture Reading Device for Tea Leaves” project, lead by Mrs. Sanjeewani Thilakarathna from the Department of Engineering Technology.
