Profile Overview
Dr. Nuwan Gamage is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Technology at the University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka. He obtained his B.Sc. (Hons) in Animal Science and Fisheries from the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya and completed his Ph.D. in Veterinary Medicine at Chungnam National University, South Korea. Prior to joining the University of Ruhuna, he worked as a Graduate Researcher at the Veterinary Medicine Research Institute, Chungnam National University, where he conducted research on Viral Immunology, Molecular Cell Biology, Microbial Biotechnology, Host–Pathogen Interactions, Antiviral Therapeutics, and Vaccine Development.
His research interests include human and veterinary viral diseases, industrial microbiology, immune evasion mechanisms of viruses, antiviral natural products, inflammation, vaccine development, and dairy and meat processing technologies. He has published extensively in internationally indexed journals and has presented his research at leading scientific conferences in Asia, Europe, and Australia. His work aims to bridge fundamental biological research with practical applications in animal health, food technology, and disease control.
