Profile Overview

Dr. Thushara Sampath is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biosystems Technology, Faculty of Technology, University of Ruhuna. He holds a B.Sc. (Sp), Hons from the University of Ruhuna and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Peradeniya. His professional experience includes research and development in the natural products sectors, including industry experience at Nature’s Secret and postdoctoral research fellow at SLINTEC. His research interests focus on natural product chemistry, medicinal plants, bioactive compound isolation and characterization, herbal standardization, and the evaluation of natural products using in vitro and in vivo approaches. His work also explores the development of natural product-based technologies and their biomedical and therapeutic applications.
